Retail: Warehouse Operations
Manager - Inventory - Milwaukee Brewers (Milwaukee, WI)

Under the direction of the Director of Merchandise, this position oversees retail merchandise inventory, movement of retail product throughout Miller Park, conducts retail merchandise inventory counts and gives direction to retail warehouse staff. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Warehouse Attendants; completes warehouse operational needs by assigning employees and following up on work results.
  • Receives shipments from vendors and verifies the accuracy of package contents.
  • Trains to, and maintains retail standards, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains retail store/portable/warehouse standards, policies and procedures.
  • Develops, implements and conducts quarterly inventory counts of all locations, audits, cycle counts and reports results.
  • Ensures integrity of physical inventory and par levels.
  • Transports product throughout all retail locations at Miller Park in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Stocks product in warehouse; ensures that inventory levels are maintained.
  • Ensures manifest accuracy - accurately account for and record merchandise upon receipt and note any discrepancies against expected/ordered quantities.
  • Manages inventory flow at all store, portable/kiosk, warehouse and stock locations throughout Miller Park, initiates transfers based on needs and ensures proper closing of transfers and allocations.
  • Develops and executes a defective merchandise program as needed.
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of warehouse and inventory.

  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced math skills; proficient in MS Excel and retail POS/Inventory systems.

Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum two years of retail warehouse experience; Sports retail a plus.
  • Prior experience working with point of sale (POS) system required.
  • High school diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.

Computer Skills  

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Outlook, and Internet Explorer.  Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.    

Language Skills                                             

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

Mathematical Skills                                                   

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

Reasoning Ability      

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

The employee must have ability to stand for entire length of shift, up to 8-10 hours as needed; is frequently required to walk up/down stairs frequently; is frequently required to bend/reach/climb on step stool/ladder; have visual acuity to sufficiently see and distinguish merchandise and operate point-of-sale system.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, which may include heat, cold and various forms of precipitation.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Work Hours                                                  

Regular business office hours are Monday-Friday 9 am - 5 pm, however, additional hours may be required on weekend, evenings and some holidays.
